JAMES P. COWLES
James was admitted to the New Hampshire and U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire bars in 2008. Jim received his B.S. in Environmental Conservation from the University of New Hampshire (2004) and his J.D. from Vermont Law School (2008) and completed course work for M.S.E.L at Vermont Law School. He served as the Carroll County Governor for the New Hampshire Bar Association from 2016 – 2020 and as a Board Member for the Appalachian Mountain Teen Project from 2014-2020. He is currently the Town of Brookfield’s Moderator and serves as a Board Member for The Nick, the Carroll County Bar Association, and G.A.L.A./Makers Mill.
Jim is a former community organizer and is passionate about the environment, conservation, community development, and the Boston Celtics. In his free time, Jim enjoys hiking around New England with his wife, movies, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

KRISTIN G. FIELDS
Kristin is a lifelong resident of central New Hampshire. She is a graduate of Holderness School and received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern New Hampshire University. Kristin graduated from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 2011.
Immediately following her admission to the bar in November 2011, she worked as a fellow at New Hampshire Legal Assistance in Concord, assisting low-income residents across the state in matters of housing and unemployment benefits. Kristin served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Belknap County Bar Association in 2013, served two terms as Belknap County Governor, and is currently serving as Governor-at-Large on the New Hampshire Bar Association Board of Governors.
In 2018, Kristin received a New Hampshire Bar Pro Bono Program Rising Star award. Kristin was a solo practitioner in Laconia for several years, focusing primarily in the areas of family law (including divorce, parenting, post-divorce issues, guardianships) and estate planning prior to joining Walker & Varney, PC in 2022.
Kristin enjoys traveling to new places, exploring her neighborhood with the family dog, and spending time with her wonderful family.

THOMAS “Randy” WALKER
Randy was admitted to the New Hampshire and U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire bars in 1983. Randy received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of New Hampshire and his Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School. He served as President of the Carroll County Bar Association, and as the Carroll County Governor for the NH Trial Lawyers Association.
Randy also acted as a Director of the Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce and was elected as the President of the Wolfeboro Tennis Club. He has proudly been the Wolfeboro Town Moderator since 2002 and the Governor Wentworth Regional School District Moderator since 1989.
Outside of the office, Randy is an avid reader and outdoorsman. He also holds a pilot, motorcycle, and boating license. On the weekends you can find him spending time with his family on their farm.
